Medico-Legal:
Professor McCollum provides expert reports across the range of arterial and venous surgery. He has represented both the Plaintiff and the Defence in actions relating to medical negligence. His special experience in litigation involving deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) led to his appointment as the lead expert in the multi-party oral contraceptive litigation. He is experienced in Court both in medical negligence and personal injury litigation. His team have been able to respond to requests for a large number of reports in a short timescale and has acquired the expertise to offer individual advice for each of the many litigants in a multi-party action. He is familiar with the Woolf reforms and is able to comply with the new rules governing expert medical evidence.
Around 45% of reports are for claimants and 35% for the defence and 25% joint reports (equal weighting for claimant and defence work as many claimants do not pursue claims unlikely to succeed).
